Marrickville Transport Action Group Inc.

Marrickville Transport Action Group began as a resident action group which campaigned to change the position of Marrickville Council on a road development proposal. Under the name "Marrickville Tunnel Action Group" this group of residents were overwhelmingly successful in their aim, but in the course of the campaign they became aware of other developments and new opportunities for making the Marrickville LGA an even greater place to live. Incorporating in 2006 as Marrickville Transport Action Group, the volunteer-run organisation has been successful in other campaigns and in securing funding for community and awareness raising projects.
